I've been delivering projects successfully for a quite a while now and have experienced all types of change across many industry sectors so you could say I've been around the block and back. There is very little I haven't seen or experienced. It certainly helps when needing to keep a level head during moments of crisis.
I started this company with one thing in mind and that was to really add value by helping organisations deliver the right outcomes to achieve their goals. I have a passion for seeing the project actually deliver benefits that make it a positive experience for everyone involved.

Operational Roles

2004 to 2011

Having joined Birmingham City Council in 2003 in a pure PM role within 12 months I was operating at Assistant Director level responsible for IT services, Corporate Comms, Customer Relations and Regulatory Governance for the largest Social Care Dept in Europe. 

I also held Corporate wide transformation and IT Governance responsibilities that included evaluation of tenders for the £58m out-sourcing of IT Services.

Following this further operational responsibilities at Assistant Director level have included, running a Property Consultancy business in Capita Symonds and being responsible for commissioning Cancer Services for Walsall.

From 2006

Since moving into a Property Transformation internal consultant role in 2006, consulting has long been a feature of all subsequent positions. 
In particular consultancy has featured business transformation, workplace transformation, new methods of working, regeneration, care pathways in health, optimisation and efficiency, data transformation and open data.

In addition to this my passion for the development of Programme and Project Management led to an invite to help develop the Management of Portfolios method for strategic change.

Project Manager

Since 1986

Started as a PM in Local Government in the early days of IT and delivered mainframe systems and deployed networks when the role of an IT Project Manager was in it's infancy.
Since then I have delivered IT Projects for three Local Authorities, a major player in the Construction Industry, an International Stockbroker and a national Higher Education Service. 
I have delivered internal developments, implemented and upgraded packaged solutions built infrastructure and networks, set up data governance and architecture and led digital transformation.
Organisations: Wolverhampton, Walsall and Birmingham Councils, Tarmac Topmix, Charles Schwab Europe and UCAS.

Programme Manager

From 2002

A move into Programme Management came about in 2002 when working with Charles Schwab to lead a truly global team delivering what is now known as Digital Transformation. A newly developed web site designed in San Fransisco, hosted in Phoenix, developed in Bangalore and integrated and delivered in Birmingham, serving investors around the UK with some £5bn of managed assets.
From this point Programme Management grew through IT Programmes into major Business Transformation Programmes of change from Property, Heath Care services and Data Transformation.

Programme Manager - 2011 - 2014

Project Managed delivery of a range of business & digital transformation initiatives and to lead the annual planning process to define and plan the change portfolio. Data Transformation - Enterprise Data Strategy, Business Intelligence strategy and new platform, Information Governance and ISO27001 accreditation. Development of Commercial Services web-site and Digital Products, including adverstising and data product revenue generation. Agile development of core Digital Products, Course Search and FE progression (Scrum developments -  Java/.NET)

NHS Heart of Birmingham and Walsall

Assistant Director Transformation 2008 - 2011

Development of a range of integrated Primary Health Care Organisations for the PCT’s 300k resident population, in a new estate of Primary Care Health Centres. Managed a portfolio service transformation projects across Primary, Community and Acute Care services in Walsall. Delivery of the PCT’s QIPP Initiatives. Established PPM best practice

Assistant Director Property Transformation Consulting 2007-2008

Lead Consultant on strategic Property Transformation Projects. Business Case & Bid for International Equestrian & Racing Resort for a major international Investment Bank in the Middle East. Salford Building Schools for the Future: development and delivery of the Regeneration and Transformation element of a Consortium bid for the contract to develop and manage Salford City Council’s BSF programme. In partnership with Bovis Lend Lease.Review of Leisure & Sports Strategy for two Leisure Developments – Swindon MBC

Service Birmingham (JV Birmingham City Council & Capita)

Senior Programme Manager 2006 - 2007

Seconded to JV organisation to manage a public sector Property Transformation initiative.
Business case and Programme Blueprint for the Council’s £2.7bn property estate including asset optimisation, new ways of working, new management capability and systems and enhanced facilities management. Rationalisation of 1m sq ft office estate including procurement of an external property partner.

Birmingham City Council

Assistant Director/Senior Programme Manager 2003- 2006

Responsible for change management & ICT service delivery, with a multi-£m budget and user base exceeding 3,000. Social Care & Health – Business Process Improvement and ICT change programme for Adult and Children Services; IT Service Improvement, multi-agency Single Assessment Process, Integrated Children’s Assessment, Performance Management, CareFirst System development

Charles Schwab Europe

Senior Project Manager 1999 - 2003

Re-Architecture of Charles Schwab Share Trading Digital Web Channel: £35m transformation of the major trading channel for the country’s 2nd largest stock broker. Included digital services, tools and products, customer personalisation and segmentation, content management systems, and technical infrastructure, hosting and DR solutions. Managed a global multi-disciplinary team (UK/USA/India). Fast to market financial products and changes to existing products and services including frequent trader, high worth customer services and trading settlement processes. Stocks and Shares ISA Project –A brand new product, process and supporting systems – gained 250,000 accounts in the first 12 months.
